I am not mainly referring to cars used in motorsports. I'm really talking about the guy who buys the cheaper, similar version of everything just to try and flaunt it on the street like he has something sooo cool, and the Z doesn't deserve that. If you have a track slut, there's no good reason to buy authentic stuff if you just may end up damaging it anyways. I still would not buy knock-off wheels for the track especially, as that's the place I'd be most concerned about that extra weight and lack of structural integrity. No reason to buy expensive ones necessarily, but light, strong wide wheels will do. In addition... There are many people here with nice, authentic parts that track their cars too, I just don't think that was the point I was trying to make. Some people, whether they track their car or not, just like to have the nicer parts, to have nicer parts. Track cars are really about the only thing I'd excuse cheaper parts on - given the argument that, if it doesn't help the car go faster and the alternative will suffice - screw it.
